PRP For Skin Rejuvenation

Over the year, PRP treatments have become synonymous with skin health. Nowadays, thanks to its undeniable results and effectiveness in treating more than just skin conditions, it has become one of the most sought-after aesthetic treatments on the market.

Now, one of the most common uses for PRP is skin rejuvenation, and to address the signs of aging, including fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of volume in specific areas of the face.

Naturally, as we age, the body changes, and natural hormone levels begin to decline. This hormonal change results in less collagen production within the skin, which is when signs of aging begin to manifest.

In the skin, aging often presents itself as visible fine lines and wrinkles, loss in volume and overall structure. It can also impact overall skin condition causing it to become drier. These signs of aging are also triggered by some external factors such as sun damage and specific skin conditions which can make the skin appear duller.

Now, whilst aging is natural, many people strive to look younger than their chronological age, and that’s where PRP treatment can help.

PRP for Skin Rejuvenation

PRP therapy for skin rejuvenation can help to improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Here are some other uses for PRP in addressing skin rejuvenation:

– Fine lines and wrinkles

– Nasolabial folds

– Acne scarring

– Hollowed cheeks

– Pigmentation

The results of PRP therapy for skin rejuvenation are gradual and may require multiple treatments, typically spaced several weeks apart.

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is an injectable, anti-aging procedure that separates key nutrients from the blood to stimulate collagen production and tissue regeneration within the skin.

Human blood contains key components that are individually vital to maintaining overall skin health and body functionality. These components include plasma, growth factors, and platelets that support overall body and skin function. It is these nutrients that are separated from the blood and injected beneath the surface of the skin.

Suitable for all skin types, ages, and ethnicities, PRP works by extracting blood from a patient’s arm, similar to a blood test, and placing it in a special centrifuge. This centrifuge then spins the blood to separate the platelet-rich plasma. This rich plasma is then injected into the skin to encourage tissue regeneration and stimulate collagen production.

Following the procedure, growth factors and other natural nutrients are gradually released into the skin over the course of several days to further stimulate collagen production. This means results will continue to improve following treatment.

Depending on the skin concern and overall skin quality, patients will require 40-50 shots and may require more than one treatment session for optimum results.
