What is Cellular Matrix?

What is Cellular Matrix? This is one question we are asked all the time. In this blog, we will break down exactly why our Cellular Matrix PRP is, and what makes it different from other PRP medical devices in the industry.

What is PRP?

Before looking at Cellular Matrix, it helps to understand the process of PRP and how it works.

Platelet Rich Plasma, otherwise known as PRP is one of the most popular treatments on the market. Originally it was heavily used in sports science to address injuries in leading athletes, however, research has proven its effectiveness in aesthetics as well.

So how does PRP work? PRP works by harnessing vital components found within human blood to trigger the body’s natural healing process, boost cell activity, and regenerate tissue to stimulate collagen production.

The process begins with a clinician drawing blood from a patient’s arm, similar to a routine blood test. This blood is then placed into a special centrifuge that spins at a rapid frequency to separate the red and white blood cells and other key nutrients from the blood.

Now, naturally, human blood contains several key constituents that play a vital role in supporting overall health and body functionality. These key components are:

Growth Factors – vital proteins used to support health and healing.

Plasma – a yellowish substance that carries water, enzymes, and nutrients around the body.

Platelets – cells that support healthy blood coagulation.

It is these nutrients that are injected back into the treatment area during a PRP session as they are the body’s initial responders when an injury occurs. Together, these components work to stop bleeding, form new healthy tissue in the area, and stimulate collagen to aid overall healing.

As PRP uses no additional additives, but the natural nutrients found within a patient’s own blood, it is considered one of the safest aesthetic treatments around, with little to no risk of infection.

Treatment takes as little as 40 minutes, requires no post-procedural downtime, and is suitable for all skin tones, and types.

PRP is highly effective in addressing:

• Hair loss

• Anti-aging in the skin

• Scarring

• Volume loss in the skin

• Muscular Injuries

• Gynaecological conditions

What is Cellular Matrix?

RegenLabs Cellular Matrix range is a Class iii medical device that enables the preparation of autologous platelet-rich plasma in combination with 40ml of non-crosslinked Hyaluronic Acid.

In PRP treatments Hyaluronic Acid can be combined to boost treatment efficacy. It helps to boost molecular activity, support tissue regeneration, and support overall skin health by binding water for additional hydration.

In sports science indications, hyaluronic acid also helps to provide additional lubrication to address joint pain.

So, what makes the RegenLab Cellular Matrix special? Well, our Cellular Matrix system is a safe, and sterile closed system device that guarantees a platelet recovery above 80% with no loss of plasma, growth factors, or fibrinogen.

Our patented technology separates the blood’s key blood constituents by forming a bioactive scaffold that allows the platelet-rich plasma to remain at the top of the system, whilst unwanted blood and cells remain at the bottom.

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, you know you can trust RegenLab. We combine extensive research and patented technology to create world-leading, CE-certified, and FDA-approved Class IIb and III Medical Devices.
